Artist Statement
I make drawings that concentrate the beauty and energy of the figure into linear form. My focus is to recognize our ability to constantly reinvent and morph, mentally and physically, to meet the challenges of life. In my work, I crystallize fleeting moments of mind body balance, while emphasizing that balance is precarious and we are always on the cusp of change.

Bibliography
AN ALTERNATIVE CELEBRATION: RHODE ISLAND’S HERA GALLERY TURNS 50: “There are two small brilliant colored penciled graphite drawings on mylar, “Untitled”, by Maggy Allen. In her statement, she explained that they are part journal and part meditation. Her shapes are ready to morph or merge, they include the music that makes them dance and their inter-connections may be long or short lived. “ -Madeleine Lord / Artscope Magazine July/August 2024
